How I started knowing where the money is

Ask me six months ago what was overdue and I'd have guessed. I'm a pest controller, not an accountant, and I ran the money out of my head and the bank app.

So I started learning bookkeeping, before anything else. I'm working with a bookkeeper to get the books straight, I get the numbers each month, and I've started splitting the money as it comes in, so wages, tax and running costs each have their own place before I touch any of it.

Where it's at: half fixed. I know a lot more than I did. I still don't get told what's overdue every day without going looking, and until I do, this one isn't done.
